DESIGN SERIES: Mid-Century Modern

Mid-Century Modern is a term used in architecture, as well as in graphic, interior and furniture design. As the name implies it refers to a distinct era in design, from mid 1930's through mid 1960's. It is characterized by clean lines, low-slung furniture, lots of wood details and Danish influences.

Some key signature pieces that help define this look are the modern classic Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen and chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames, including the Molded Plastic Eames Chairs (which we happen to have right now at Post & Gray).  Here's a look at the Saarinen table + Eames chairs...
