What Works

We just felt like taking a look at some things that work this morning. Like painting your doors black, or at least something darker than the traditional white. Darker doors add a richness to a space that white simply cannot achieve.  Besides, we love the added practicality of masking dirty finger prints & scuffs.

Not only should we reconsider the typical white door, we should also reconsider the typical eggshell paint finish.  Depending on the saturation of the tone you're thinking about & the amount of light in your space, going glossy just might be the way to go.

Finally, retro is soo now. Consider adding something vintage or retro-inspired into your space.  These dining chairs are the perfect example.  Add a funky lighting fixture or mix up your dining chairs, even if it's just the two end chairs, going retro is never out of style.

The possibilities are endless; The important thing is to just get started.

What works for you in your space?  We'd love to see your pics - send them to info@postandgray.com with this blog title in the subject & we just might feature your space!

Favorite Trends

We're well aware that not all trends are good ones, but there is one that is oh so right on right now: tie-dye & ombre.  We like to think we stay ahead of trends and this is one to prove it as we've been selling fabulous tie-dye & ombre pillows for a couple of seasons now.  We're just glad it's catching on and at Market we saw higher-end textile lines like Dransfield & Ross embracing this trend.

Take at look at some of these killer products that make it easy to incorporate this trend into your everyday.

Market Madness

We came, we saw, we drooled and most importantly, we gained inspiration.  Market has come and gone, but we are still reveling.  Our take-away?  Keep it neutral with punches of fun color.  The best & most inspiring showrooms kept a neutral color story and amped up the style with bright accents.

We want to share our favorite & easiest ways to add style to your neutral space & let you see some gems from Market, by Dransfield & Ross, Natural Curiosities & Verellan.

In a neutral space, bright pillows & accents provide the perfect punch.

Seeing Sisal

The Fall Rug Event is here at Post & Gray, but only while supplies last.  For a short time only, you can get a 4 x 6 sisal free when you purchase an 8 x10 or larger! Sisal carpets are so versatile and look great alone or layered, room-sized or as a runner in your hallway or staircase.  Check out some images and see how you can use these rugs in any space.

Warm up your foyer, landing or hallway with sisal - great for high-traffic areas. A banded sisal is the perfect neutral to set off your architectural details and patterned upholstered pieces.

A Warm Welcome

With the Holidays approaching we're all abuzz with seasonal decor ideas for our home and with guests coming in from out of town, there's nothing more important than creating a warm welcome. We decided to take a look at some our favorite entries, and if you haven't been in lately, you need to stop by as we have some fabulous new merchandise to warm up any welcome.

This first space has a comfy place to sit and take of  your shoes, drop your keys and plenty of room to gather and say hello.

We love everything about this second entry.  The greenery feels so fresh, the natural textures and accessories, casual and inviting.

Sometimes, all the entry needs is a great wallpaper. . .  but fabulous accents don't hurt either.

While the last entryway isn't as spacious as the others, it has all the warmness the others have with the most fabulous place to plop.

Stop by soon to see what we have to cozy up your entry and make your Holiday welcome a bit warmer.

Fall Hues

As October is officially here, we couldn't help but notice the abundance of traditional fall hues popping up.  While we love the traditional rich golds and auburns, we can't help but be excited about the blues and greens popping up in people's autumn decor.

Check out some of our current favorite color combinations that work all year round. Speaking of all year round, this covered porch looks like the perfect perch for all four seasons.

This kitchen is playful and fresh with its mix of colors but the chandeliers and marble keep it sophisticated - a happy-feeling space we'd say.

We saw this piece of artwork on flickr, it's called "at peace" by Jong Ro.  It would be a gorgeous focal point in any room with its rich hues of blues and greens.

And finally, some of our favorite color combinations for seasonal decor. Go ahead and get creative this season, we sure are!
