Carolina Rustica began 16 years ago as a small import shop in downtown Charlotte, NC. Through the years, the company has added high-end brand name furniture and lighting lines, as well as continuing to promote smaller, artisinal collections made in North Carolina. The company now represents well over 100 recognized brand names in all aspects of home furnishings, and sells them nationwide through its high-profile website, www.CarolinaRustica.com. The company maintains several galleries, all housed in historic Gibson Mills in downtown Concord, NC, with total showroom space of 20,000 sq ft.
About Richard Sexton
Richard Sexton founded Carolina Rustica 16 years ago after a one year trip around the world to celebrate a voluntary departure from the corporate life. Started as an importer of Tibetan handicrafts, Carolina Rustica is a growing retailer of high end furniture and lighting embracing internet technology and consumer trends to grow its customer base. Mr. Sexton has his MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University with concentrations in Marketing, Economics, and Transportation. He is a frequent speaker to the furniture, design and e-commerce industries on social media, website usability and small-business management.
